Indaux faces the implementation of “Lean Manufacturing” methods in its manufacturing plants. The objective of this project, Amagoia Areizaga coordinates and is responsible for the industrial area of the company, is to start-up the tools necessary to adapt production to the constant changes in demand, producing the necessary goods at the opportune moment and in the precise amounts.
The first consequence of applying “Lean Manufacturing” to the Metallic Drawer division has been the substitution “Attraction” drawer side assembly machine for another with a quick change system for better efficiency and safety, which involved an investment of almost 50,000 Euros.
Since the beginning of the year, Indaux has been immersed in a project to implement a Continuous Improvement system based on “Lean Manufacturing” principles. The Metallic and Plastic Drawer divisions have been the first to establish this work system but the intention is to extend the model throughout the organization. The implementation of the “Lean Manufacturing” philosophy to the entire Getaria plant will be completed by yearend.
With the aim of guaranteeing the success of the “Lean Manufacturing” implementation process at Indaux, the Group has contracted the services of the professionals at Sisteplant (consulting firm specialised in industrial organization) to implement the “Lean Manufacturing” systems and specialised software it has developed successfully in the implementation of these processes for leading companies like Aceralia, Nissan, Mercedes, Fagor, Gamesa and Airbus.
