The area of development of the EN standards for the Furniture Industry is the CEN/TC 2007, which encompasses the work group for the standardization of fitting for furniture (WG8). This is where the testing labs, institutions, associations and principle European manufacturers in the sector participate, as well as representatives of European standardization institutions like DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung), AFNOR (Association Française de Normalisation) and AENOR (Asociación Española de Normalización y Certificación).
On behalf of the testing labs, representatives from prestigious testing laboratories will attend the meeting (Fira, LGA, CTBA, Catas, AIDIMA, etc), in addition to Ikea, and, on behalf of furniture manufacturers and fitting manufacturer companies, will be Hettich, Blum and Indaux. It is the second time this work group from the Standardization Committee for the Furniture Industry meets in Spain, the first was in 2006, also at the Indaux headquarters.
