The University of Navarra Engineering Faculty, Tecnum, organised on Friday November 4th the 1st University, Design and Company Forum, with the heading “Design and Technology”. Javier García, Assistant Director General of Indaux, participated in the “Success Stories” module with the CAF, Wattio and Salto Systems.
Javier García presented four products that have been revolutionary for Indaux, thanks to their design:
– The eccentric spiral cam: a single piece system that requires no external connecting solutions.
– The atlas system for suspended kitchens.
– The smart system for integrated shelves.
– The damper: Indaux is the owner of several patents related to damping. “We try to make life better for everyone, but our technology can’t be seen, it can be felt. We offer end users sensations, furniture doors and drawers that don’t bounce back when opened or closed, that run gently and don’t stick”, said Javier García.
Meanwhile, Generosa Cerviño, Human Resources Director, took part in the round table, “What characteristics do companies look for in a design engineer?” Design is no longer considered to be a cost, but an investment connected to the development of innovative technology services and products and, thanks to this change in paradigm, increasingly more companies need design engineers on their teams. Generosa Cerviño explained that steadiness, self-control, boldness, abstraction and attention to regulations are some of the personality features that Indaux looks for in a design engineer. And with respect to skills, she highlighted resistance to adversity, team work, initiative, customer orientation and the ability to plan. But above all, she advised students at Tecnum to be motivated when attending job interviews, and to like the market and the sector in which they wish to work.
