Indaux

Successful event in Nice

IMG-2253On 7 and 8 June, Indaux took part in the European Congress on DDMRP production planning technologies, held in Nice. The objectives of the meeting were to deepen knowledge of Demand Driven principles, discover best practices and listen to success stories analysed by the Demand Driven Institute. Indaux was one of the companies invited to describe the improvements obtained after its implementation, and those responsible for explaining it were Xabi Ruiz and Ander Etxeberria, members of the Operations department.

New distributor in Saudi Arabia

ITCOIndaux has signed a distribution agreement for Saudi Arabia with ITCO, the International Timber Company. The company was founded in 1970 and is a leader in the marketing of wood, floor and fitting products for construction, joinery, industrial packaging and interior decoration.

It has 13 branches throughout the country, more than a 100 distributors and a sales team that has built solid relationships with joiners, building companies and contractors. Among other products, they will distribute in Saudi Arabia: Komplet Marc and Cisne runners, Attraction and Europa drawers and Scarpi-4, Scarpi-5 and Traser-6 hangers.

Indaux strengthens its presence in the Asia Pacific Region

EMPRESAXXIIndaux’s sales department has been reinforced with the recruitment of Iñigo Sagarna, who will be responsible for strengthening the Asia-Pacific markets after the promotion of Asier Lizaso to Sales Director. An Industrial Technical engineer from the University of the Basque Country with a Masters Degree in International Commerce from Deusto, Sagarna comes from the Gas & Oil sector where he was Sales Director at Comdiflex for seven years. Prior to this, he had extensive experience in other sectors, such as the paper industry.

For Indaux, the Asian market is crucial as explained in a report published in the Empresa XXI newspaper, which takes stock of the four years since the subsidiary was established in India. In 2050, China and India will control half of international commerce, which will make Asia the primary economic centre. Against this background, Indaux decided, in 2014, to mount a commercial joint-venture with two Indian industrial partners, Vinay Kothari and Sudhir Mehta.IMG_3070 copia

As the Managing Director of Indaux, Javier García, explained in that interview, Indaux does not want to look at that economic centre solely from an export point of view. The company’s philosophy is “not to relocate, but to multilocate to cover new markets, as we are convinced that multilocation will bring work to the Basque Country. Because the products and processes will continue to be designed here and we will sell more products manufactured in the Basque Country”.

New planning of production and purchases

stockIndaux introduced a new production and inventory planning system based on daily and real demand (DDMRP) at the beginning of the year, which allowed the company to increase the value of daily invoicing, optimize the level of customer service and Reduce the time spent making purchase decisions.

The DDMRP allows companies to integrate within the same tool the organization of production, the purchase of raw materials and the management of inventories, aligning production with real market demand and facilitates decision making, both at the level of Planning and implementation. The implementation started by the purchasing department, after the good results obtained, has been extended to the production plants. The Demand Based Management Resource Planning (DDMRP) tool has been imported from the United States and is already operational in other leading companies such as Nestlé or Michelin.

The initiative, coupled with the TPM continuous maintenance program, training for predictive maintenance, installation of Prisma software for optimization of machine maintenance and improvement of the organizational quality produced after the ERP update, are part of Indaux’s strategy to adapt its production model to the demands of a highly competitive sector and to the next industrial revolution, called Industry 4.0.

Indaux, in the Ruso Ametist Group magazine

The magazine produced by the Russian business group Ametist devoted its latest issue to a report on Indaux, after the visit to Moscow by Mikel Arzalluz, sales director from the brand and Asier Lizaso, Head Sales Manager in charge of the Russian market. Amestist has been Indaux’s partner in Russia for over 20 years and it is one of the most important business holdings in Russia. It employs over 1000 people of whom 350 work in the furniture division. It mainly distributes accessories and fabric for furniture and produces other metal accessories for furniture.

In addition to selling its catalogue through Ametist, Indaux works in Russia via retail parks. The Russian market has great growth potential. After the country opened up in the 1990s, the office furniture industry developed to equip the headquarters of multinationals setting up there. Much of that local furniture industry has now become kitchen and bathroom furniture manufacturing thanks to cultural changes and increased consumer demand.

“Despite Russia’s current difficult socio-political situation, this year we are continuing to grow based on being able to add new products and a lot of this work is done closely with Ametist. As a sign of our support and confidence in the market, in November we will return to the Mebel fair in Moscow, the largest fair targeting Russian and Eastern European markets in terms of scale and business efficiency,” explains Asier Lizaso, in charge of the Russian market.
